Les Gardiens are the French Cowboys in CamargueThe sightseeing en route through the Camargue is breath-taking and then the tour will arrive in the village of Les Saintes Maries that is on the Mediterranean Sea. You will have a chance to put your feet in the sea, stroll the town, and view the surrounding countryside from atop the town's church.

The Camargue is a region situated just south of Arles. Unique to France, it includes a geography of briny lagoons, lakes, and marshlands. Its wild habitants are some 400 species of birds, the Camargue Horses, and Camargue Bulls, as well as pink flamingos and the human population includes French cowboys (les gardiens) and many Roma gypsies (in Les Ste. Maries). If time permits, this is a very special area to visit and certainly will provide a remarkable contract to the perched villages of Les Baux de Provence and the Luberon (which should not be missed either).
