Cannes was once a quiet fishing village, but is now a very glamorous and well-known seaside town. The Cannes film festival in May is when Cannes is watched around the world because the rich and richer of the entertainment world full of actors and actresses pour into the area and the celebrities and directors await word regarding the film awards.

Your tour continues to to Grasse, world capital of the perfume industry since the end of the 18th century.  In Grasse, you will nourish your senses with a guided tour of a perfumery or free time to visit the old town. Grasse has a very unique microclimate which attracts the the flower farming industry. Because of its location, it is warm enough and far enough away from the Mediterranean to be protected from the sea air.

In Gourdon, a perched village, you will have majestic vistas of the French Alps and Mediterranean coastline. Located on a spur jutting out about the Loup River, the views take your breath away! It is labelled one of the Most Beautiful Villages of France.

After lunch, you'll wind down the dramatic Loup Gorges to taste Riviera’s speciality flower sweets at Florian Confectionary.

Next stop is Tourrettes-sur-Loup for a spectacular view. Tourrettes is a medieval village that is also perched on a narrow spur. It extends from the rocky hills to a gorge below. Once a fortified village, the arched passages remain.

Saving the best for last, you will arrive in St Paul de Vence. St. Paul has ancient cobblestone lanes, fortified walls, and is one of the Most Beautiful Villages in France. When thinking about Saint Paul de Vence, think contemporary art, first-class restaurants, unique shopping, and history and culture. You will discover it all in this popular town.

Your Riviera countryside tour ends after visiting Saint Paul de Vence and your driver will take you back to your Nice hotel.
