Sacre Coeur at MontmartreWe will connect in Paris and spend 4 nights. While in Paris, we will have a private Paris walking tour, visit the Louvre and Orsay Museums, and see many highlights in the City of Light. Of course, we'll take a Seine River Cruise, too. That way, we get to see Paris from a totally different perspective!

Then, we're off to Normandy where we will stay in Bayeux. This very special town in Normandy was the first town liberated by the British on June 7, 1944. While in Bayeux,we will visit the Bayeux Tapestry that recounts the story of the Norman Conquest of England in 1066.

The highlight of our Normandy stay is June 6, 2012 to join in the ceremonies at the American Cemetery  in honor of the 69th anniversary of the D-Day invasion.

We will also visit Pointe du Hoc located four miles west of Omaha Beach. Pointe du Hoc is where Lieutenant Colonel James Earl Rudder led a United States Army Ranger Assault Group up 100 foot cliffs to attack a German artillery battery. It was a costly effort with the loss of many Americans. We will stroll the paths at Pointe du Hoc and easily envision what took place there.

Beached Mulberry at ArromanchesIf time allows, we will visit Arromanches. Arromanches is the location of Gold Beach, where the British came ashore on D-Day. The remains of Churchill's Mulberry Harbor are still visible.

While staying in Bayeux, we will have a day tour to Mont Saint Michel. The dramatic views of this impressive wonder of the world are amazing. Its history has seen it as a monastery, a prison, and now it's a pilgrimage destination, and the second most visted place in France after the Eiffel Tower.

On June 9th, we will depart Normandy and return to Charles de Gaulle airport visiting Rouen (wonderful Normandy town) and Giverny (Monet's home and gardens) and spend the last night at the airport so you'll be ready for your flight home on the 10th of June.

We do have a great time on our trips and hope you'll join us for the D-Day Tour 2013 to visit both Paris and Normandy!
