Trinity College, CambridgeBeginning with a pickup in London, you will depart with your private driver guide and will drive to Cambridge. Cambridge has its historic colleges, well manicured gardens, chapels, courtyards and dining halls. Next stop will bring you to Stamford, a beautiful town developed by most everyone -- Romans, the Saxons, the Danes and Normans. Your tour will take you to Burghley House, one of England's greatest Elizabethan houses. You'll arrive in York where you will stay for two nights. Circled by imposing Medieval walls, York has preserved so much Medieval structure that its centre is like entering a living museum.

{slide=Day 3: Peak District - Chatsworth - Chester|blue}

Chester, EnglandContinuing your Great Britain tour will take you to the magnificent Peak District, a landscape of moorland, deep green valleys and rough stone crags, where almost every hilltop is marked with prehistoric huts and one or two of the fine Derbyshire houses. You will want to visit Chatsworth which is a magnificent 17th century home of the Duke of Devonshire, or Haddon Hall, or Hardwick Hall that is a 16th century home of the four times married "Bess of Hardwick". The guide will share the social history and stories connected with each location and this will bring it all to life! Next in this historic day, you will visit the 15th century Little Moreton Hall. You will then arrive in Chester. Built by the Romans 2000 years ago, Chester has more archaeological and architectural treasures than any other city in Britain. You will see the well preserved Roman city walls, the fine red sandstone Cathedral, the Roman amphitheater, and the galleried half-timbered tiers of shops known as "The Rows". Overnight in Chester.

{slide=Day 4: Stratford-upon-Avon - Cotswolds - Bath|blue}

Stratford-Upon-Avon, EnglandOn your fourth day, you will depart Chester to visit Stratford-upon-Avon. This popular destination is famous since it is the birthplace of the poet and playwright William Shakespeare. The Royal Shakespeare Company is based in the theater in Stratford and is certainly one of Britain's most important cultural highlights. With a history back to medieval times, the market town of Stratford has much to see such as Anne Hathaway's Cottage which is the childhood home of Shakespeare's wife. Shakespeare's birthplace is on Henley Street and it's very wonderful to see the Royal Skaespeare Theater. Leaving Stratford, your drive will take you through the Cotswolds. This area is often called the Heart of England with its amazing natural beauty.  You'll soon arrive in the world heritage city of Bath - a lively and beautiful city where you will spend the night.

{slide=Day 5: Lacock - Stonehenge - Salisbury - Winchester - London|blue}

Stonehenge, EnglandYou will return to London via the pretty village of Lacock. This town was established in 1232 and has a pristine feel about it. After the charm of this special village, the contrast of the next visit to Britain's darkest prehistoric mystery is noteworthy. Stonehenge is indescribably fascinating and one can only imagine what it's all about and how those stones ever could have been moved there. Leaving the mystery of Stonehenge, your tour will finish up in the cathedral cities of Salisbury and Winchester, both handsome British cities.
