Day 1: Your Provence tour begins with a transfer from your TGV from Paris to your hotel in Avignon. You will depart Avignon for a tour to Orange to see the Triumphal Arch and the Antique Theater. Next stop in the tour is Chateauneuf du Paper to tour the vineyards and do wine-tasting. Tonight you will have dinner in Avignon and overnight in a 2* hotel. Day 2: All Provence in One Day Your driver will pick you up at 9:00 AM to depart Avignon. First stop is the Pont du Gard to visit the Roman aqueduct from the 1st Century A.D. Next visit on your Provence tour is Les Baux de Provence. Les Baux is a perched village and has excellent shopping opportunities. St. Remy de Provence is your next town to see the Roman Trimphal Arch and Funeral Monument set among the olive trees. The tour continues to the Luberon regional park to visit Roussillon. This village is one of the Most Beautiful Villages in France. Roussillon is famous for its red and yellow ocher cliffs. The next stop is Gordes. Gordes is a perched village made completely from dry stones in the hillside. Last stop is a lavender Museum to learn about the flower symbol of Provence. You will return to Avignon for dinner and overnight. Please note: The Gordes market is on Tuesday; St. Remy is on Wednesday; L'Isle sur la Sorgue is Sunday, so the order of visits will change accordingly During lavender time, you will have a panoramic drive in the lavender with stops of pictures. Day 3: Arles and Van Gogh Provence Pickup at your hotel at 9:00 to visit St. Remy de Provence and Arles to discover where Vincent Van Gogh stayed and painted between 1888-1890. Drop off at the TGV station in the afternoon for your return to Paris. |
