Gorges du Verdon

Available April through October, this full day tour will take you to Les Gorges du Verdon which are truly the Grand Canyon of France!

The scenery and natural beauty of the landscape are amazing! With a minimum of three passengers, this tour is possible any day and departs from your hotel. The dramatic mountain gorges of Verdon make this the largest canyon in Europe with cliffs rising some 2300 feet from the valley below.

Along the way, you'll get to visit Moustiers Ste. Marie, the capital of Moustiers faїence/earthenware. Its setting beneath craggy rocks makes it dramatic and a wonderful spot to explore.

Above the village is a star, suspended across the Rioul valley by a chain secured into rock on each side of the gorge. It hangs above Notre-Dame de Beauvoir chapel and was done as a promise by Sir Blacas, a knight who returned from his long captivity during the crusades.

The return to Nice will be through vineyards and (in June and July) the lavender fields of Provence!
