The
day begins at 9:00 AM when you will meet the Chef at the open air
market! It's an easy metro ride. With the shopping list in hand, you'll
visit the market to get the freshest ingredients for the day's recipes.
Markets are a way of life for the French and you'll see why this is so!
These weekly markets are throughout the country and you’ll appreciate why
they are such an important part of French cooking.
It's
such fun to meet the cheese lady and watch the fish monger prepare the fish
(should you be cooking salmon in an orange sauce with cabbage or to say it
en français, emincés de saumon à l'orange et au chou).
It’s such fun to
listen and watch the banter among the vendors and also it’s a time to get
acquainted with the other participants in your Paris Cooking Class. There’s
a Parisian spirit which permeates the markets rather like the colors,
smells, and flavors of the foods on display!
Once
you’ve completed the shopping, you’ll return to the Chef’s wonderful home
where the creation begins!
Your Paris Cooking Class then switches to a hands-on lesson during which time you’ll use state of the art materials, learn special techniques to do the particular recipes, and have fun working in a beautifully equipped and sunshine-bright Paris kitchen!
Then
follows the pièce de résistance—LUNCH! You will sit down together in the
Chef’s dining room and share the fruits (vegetables, and whatever else
you’ve cooked) of your joyful labor! You’ll taste the success of your Paris
Cooking Class! You're done by 2:00 PM.
Contact us to book your Paris Cooking Class and you will experience culture, cooking, and camaraderie in the most special day.
"I can't tell you how much we enjoyed our cooking school experience this past Tuesday! As it turned out, there were 8 of us....all Americans, and it was just a great blend of people. Our chef was one of the most sincere, energetic, and delightful persons that I have ever met!
The class was great. Even though we're all quite proficient cooks, we felt we really learned some new techniques and some yummy recipes, as well. Being able to go the market with someone who knew the local vendors and products was a great plus. Merci!!!
À Bientot,
Rita H.

Michel de Montaigne, an influential French Renaissance writer wrote:
The art of dining well is no slight art, the pleasure not a slight pleasure.
When we no longer have good cooking in the world, we will have no literature, nor high and sharp intelligence, nor friendly gatherings, no social harmony. - Marie-Antoine Carême
